[0:11:31] Expanding Minds Interview: [Economic Wellness] Jill Melanson continues her discussion of financial savings concepts. In Part 2, we chat about different types of savings accounts (e.g., regular bank account, TFSA or RRSP), and about options for saving or investing (e.g. cash, stocks, mutual funds and bonds).

[0:32:28] Adventures of the Starving Artist: This week, Cameron fell in love . . . with Spanish.

The song Cameron talks about: 1977 by Ana Tijoux

[0:35:49] Move That Body: Sheila came across an article on the 5 best exercises you could ever do.
Article: 5 of the Best Exercises You Can Ever Do

[0:41:40] Running Popup: John had a breakthrough thought about the wellness check-in theory he’s exploring. When you stop to think actively about the activities you are doing to nourish wellness in the different categories of wellness, the check-in has more than one side. You can see what’s missing, but you can also see what you’ve got – how rich your life is.

[0:44:10] Flipside of the Coin: Kids are very creative and their movement and their thoughts are very lively. We take that out of them as they grow up. It’s almost like our society beats the naturalness and creativity out of us.

Quotes and Take-Aways:

John – There can be nourishment lurking unseen. When you stop to think actively about the activities you are doing and missing, that nourish wellness in the different categories of wellness that are important to you, the wellness check-in has more than one side. You can see what’s missing, but you can also see what you’ve got – how rich your life is.

John – If you’re curious about how to run properly, one good way to do it is to go to a park and watch kids run. They just naturally know what to do. It’s nature taking over.

Sheila – I had this experience teaching young kids. They are very creative and their movement and their thoughts are very lively. We take that out of them as they grow up. When you’re teaching 8-year-olds to teenagers they lose that creativity. It’s really interesting to watch little kids play.

John – It’s almost like our society beats the naturalness out of us. It beats the creativity out of us.

Bulletin Board Quote brought to you by Sammy: What the heck? We should talk about CBD.
