[0:14:12] Expanding Minds Interview: [Physical Wellness] Hillary Fitzgerald is a personal trainer and fitness coach. She’s dynamic in motivating people to enjoy and get the most out of physical fitness. We ask her about the benefits people get out of different types of workouts, such as aerobic, core, strength, high intensity interval training and more.

[0:30:46] Adventures of the Starving Artist: Cameron was all smiles after enjoying his students perform at the Rockstar Music Student Summer Concert. All ten performers did well!

Flipside of the Coin: [0:44:15]: Sheila and John are concerned about inflation, with how fast things we need in everyday life are getting more and more expensive, like gas and food. We worry about the stress and anxiety inflation will cause, especially if people don’t get ahead of it by planning in the area of economic wellness.

Quotes and Take-Aways:

John – The more we go on with the show, I’m realizing that resilience is one of the key concepts to my approach. We’re building a shield. Each area of wellness is an overlapping plate in a shield. We make them nice and strong. When one of them gets weak, the others protect us.

John – I’m not worried about being unique. A thing people don’t do enough is to look at each other and see how much we share in common. Time is well spent seeing how I’m similar to you, and how we share outlooks, and how we can help each other and be well together.

Hillary – The functional, for example changing direction, going to one spot then moving to another, hopping from one spot to the next, working on agility, it makes me feel alive. I love it.

Hillary – When I hear someone say they feel so good after a workout, or during, that makes my day.

Hillary – That’s what I always say. The rest of your day is going to be easier, because we did this.

Hillary – The reason I like to add cardio in with core workouts (or other workouts) is because I feel that once you get your heart rate up and your endorphins start flowing, then you get your head in the game. Some people need to get their head out of where it was and get it into the game. The harder you get yourself working, the more you’re going to get into it and be happy to be there.

Bulletin Board Quote brought to you by Hillary: So that if you were to skin your shin you’re fine.

Guest Information: Hillary describes herself as a lover of life, promoter of positivity and motivator of movement. She started her fitness journey in high school, gained knowledge as she went along, and eventually enrolled in CANFITPRO. She became a personal trainer & fitness coach. Hillary initially worked at a gym and then went on to start her own business and train out of her home gym . It's been 6 years now working out of her home and she loves it.
